Championship performances in the season's final week

The field is set for the inaugural College Football Playoff, and it’s no surprise the final batch of Hall of Fame Performance of the Week nominees are full of players from teams that will be vying for the game’s top trophy.

Alabama QB Blake Sims has been one of the Tide’s most dependable performers all season long, and that consistency paid off in a 42-13 rout of Missouri in the SEC Championship Game. Sims was 23-of-27 for 262 yards and two touchdowns, lifting Alabama to the top seed in the playoff.

Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott waited for the biggest stage to deliver his best performance, rushing for 220 yards on 20 carries as the Buckeyes hammered Wisconsin 59-0 to win the Big 10 title. Ohio State takes on Alabama in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

All Florida State WR Rashad Greene did this season was rewrite the ACC record books, and his seven catches for 123 yards, along with two touchdowns, lifted the Seminoles past Georgia Tech in the ACC Championship Game en route to a second consecutive undefeated regular season. Florida State will take on Oregon in the Rose Bowl presented by Northwestern Mutual.

While TCU didn’t make the College Football Playoff this year, the Horned Frogs will head to participate in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. They closed out the regular season strong, thanks to a 30-for-41, 460-yard performance by star QB Trevone Boykin. He threw for four touchdowns in a 55-3 route of Iowa State.
