Two-time small college All-America tackle, Calvin Roberts opened the holes on offense and closed the door on defense for Gustavus Adolphus teams that dominated the Minnesota Intercollegiate Conference. The 1951 team was undefeated as Roberts won the first of his two All-America honors, the next year the Gusties won their third consecutive league title. Drafted by the New York Giants, an illness prevented him from pursuing a professional career.
