Bio
They were glorious days for the Princeton, three seasons (1933 -1935) that saw the Tigers go a combined 25-1. The key was teamwork, and guard Jac Weller was a great part of that team effort. It all began in 1933 when the Tigers finished 9-0-0, including a 20-0 thumping of eventual Rose Bowl champion Columbia. The next year, the ledger read 7-1-0, marred only by a 7-0 loss to rival Yale. Then, again, in 1935, the Tigers were perfect through nine games. Weller received consensus All-America recognition that year. Later, looking back upon his incredible career, Weller would say: "We had one of the finest bunch of football players ever to come to Princeton...in four years, no major opponent ever scored more than one touchdown on us." Indeed, if those Tigers were a great bunch, then Weller was one of the greatest players. Coach Tad Wieman admitted: "I have coached several All-America linemen. Weller was the best." It was a simple, direct statement which vividly pointed to the abundant talent stacked into Weller's 6-0, 195-pound frame. After graduation, Weller remained in Princeton, New Jersey; and established a real estate and insurance business. A history buff, he became the author of several books on military weapons and tactics.
