Bio
Following in the footsteps of Georgia legend, Herschel Walker, David Pollack became only the second Bulldog to earn First-Team All-America recognition in three seasons. He becomes the 15th UGA player to enter the College Football Hall of Fame. During his Bulldog career he became the only two-time recipient of the Ted Hendricks Award as the top defensive end in college football. The 2004 team captain led UGA to a top 10 finish in his final three campaigns, highlighted by a No. 3 ranking in 2002 when Georgia finished 13-1 and a victory in the Sugar Bowl over Florida State. He dominated quarterbacks in the SEC, leading the conference in tackles for loss and sacks during his sophomore and senior seasons. Pollack was a first round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite his career being cut short due to injury, he remained an essential part of football. He began his broadcasting career in 2008. A college football analyst at ESPN since 2009, he has previously worked as an analyst for Thursday night college football games. Since 2011 he has been part of ESPN’s “College GameDay”.
