Bio
One of the most successful coaches in NAIA history, Dick Strahm lifted the University of Findlay football program to national prominence for over two decades. He closed his career with a record of 183-46-5. In 24 seasons as head coach, he posted 22 winning seasons. He won a share of 13 conference titles and made 13 NAIA playoff appearances. In 1979, 1992, 1995 and 1997 his Oilers won the national championship, with the 1978 team placing second. He coached 38 NAIA All-America players, 16 NAIA Scholar-Athletes and one NAIA Player of the Year. Along the way he collected numerous individual awards. He was named the NAIA District 22 Coach of the Year 12 times, he won his conference Coach of the Year Award 11 times, and has won the NAIA Coach of the Year Award four times. Before he began his head coaching career, he coached for ten years on the high school level and served as an assistant at Toledo and Kansas State.
